……我很欣赏观点被精炼且优美地表达出来，但讨厌为了写诗而写诗。感觉绝大多数诗歌不过是用故弄玄虚来冒充深刻。我最喜欢的诗之一是 William Earnest Henley 的《Invictus》，于是我试着多读了读他的其他诗作，结果感觉读每首都是苦差事。
