……那段时期……有点像自虐——但当你克服了系统的局限性，做出了自己想要的东西时，那种感觉也爽爆了……我当时买了本 Peterson 写的《数学游客：现代数学快照》（The Mathematical Tourist: Snapshots of Modern Mathematics）。一本关于数学的非常棒且有趣的最新读物，配图很漂亮。而且细节丰富，让我能自己实现比如 Mandelbrot 分形生成器 :-) 看到……我倒也没觉得太难过

我很喜欢 Ivars Peterson 写的《数学游客》（The Mathematical Tourist），不过它可能比你想要的更偏“科普描述性”。我觉得它相当有启发性，大概是我高中刚入学那会儿读的（记不清具体什么时候买的了——可能还要更早）。
